CompanyBeautiful Label Winner… Papillon Wine

August 24, 2011

While waiting for my takeout order, I saw the most gorgeous and fascinating label on a wine bottle behind the bar.

Papillon Wine. I assumed there must be some type of social cause or mission associated with the grimy hands and perhaps connected with the prisoner Henri Charriere, aka Papillon, writer of the autobiographical tale of many years in various prisons and ultimate escape (great read, although the accuracy has been contested).

I checked out the company’s site, and was somewhat surprised that it’s just wine with a really cool, weird label (the photo is of one of their employees). Had it actually been connected to a cause, I’d most likely buy a few bottles and give them as gifts.

Whatever, it definitely got my attention.
